Community Service Opportunities for YSU Students. . .
Need community service hours? Or maybe you just want to volunteer and make a difference in someone's life?
Here are some places to consider:
- Mary Haddow Elementary School on Oak St. Extension
need tutors for children, contact Kathy Vogt, Volunteer Coordinator
at 330-799-5950, or Protestant Family Service, 330-783-1888.
- Needle's Eye Drug & Alcohol Prevention Ministry provides
after-school and weekend programs for at risk children, contact Director Irma Davis, 330-744-1582. The facility is located at 74 Kenmore Avenue in Youngstown.
- Beatitude House, provides housing for homeless women with children. The housing office is located at 1515 Fifth Avenue in Youngstown. For more information contact Kathleen Zimmerman, housing director at: 330-746-6622.
The education and career preparation program for disadvantaged women is a part of their ministry where tutors are needed in computer, GED and other areas. Here women gain an education and job training, located at 145 N. Glenellen Avenue in Youngstown. For more information contact Kelly Elko,

- The Rescue Mission located at 330-744-5485 Martin Luther King, Blvd.
They provide daily meals, counseling, housing, medical care and educational programs
for homeless adults and families.
